Biography

Flint Blade creates live, uplifting “jambient” soundscapes of voice, beatbox and most notably the Chapman Stick — a guitar/bass hybrid instrument played by two-handed tapping. Since adopting the rare instrument at an early age, Flint has grown to be among the most prominent of Stick players worldwide. Based in southern Florida, Flint tours nationally and has produced, recorded and published his own albums since 2005, establishing his own label “In Love Records” in 2014.

Drawing inspiration from world/reggae, jazz, electronica and all kinds of music, Flint performs original material as well as creative renditions of familiar favorites by a diverse array of artists ranging from Talking Heads, Bob Marley and the Grateful Dead to Louis Armstrong and Mozart. His unique style finds him right at home at music venues and festivals (Okeechobee 2018; Orange Blossom Jamboree 2018; Purple Hatters’ Ball 2016; Zen Awakening ’15, ’16, ’17, ’18; Florida Flow Fest 2018; Mind, Body & Soul Festival ’16 & ’17 and more)

On stage, in the studio and through life, spirit guides an exploration of the ethereal nature of sound.
